Weigh In

When I started this life changing diet back on June 19 I weighed in at 177lbs. Today, 21 days later, I weigh 163lbs. I lost 14 pounds in 21 days!! I don't think I have ever done that before. The funny thing is I haven't started taking the Alli pills yet. All I did was read the Alli book and became inspired to loose this weight...well...not only to loose the weight but to change my eating patterns. Before the diet I cooked with heavy cream, real butter...full fat everything. Taste and texture was so important. However...I feel I have a better understanding of why we eat..and guess what? We eat for entertainment! Well....at a cost. When in reality we should be eating to fuel our bodies. Yeah that cake looks good! It also looks a lot better on that plate than it does on my thighs! So what I have been gradually doing is changing how I think about food. It really has effected a lot of other things in my life as well. I do a lot of things with out really thinking...especially eating and that is just dangerous for me. Once I began really thinking about how I eat I realized how I am making myself fat..and I don't feel good fat. The other major breakthrough for me..that is very different from any diet I have tried..is that I can clearly see myself thin. I can picture myself thin in my mind as clear as a photograph. I have not been aggressively exercising either. I have cut back on fat, sugar and carbs. I eat mostly fruits and vegetables and I drink a lot of water...no more flavored water...just straight water. I think the flavored water made me hungry. I cut back on portions and since I have been a vegetarian for 10 years I don't need to worry about meat consumption. I pass on desserts most of the time and feel empowered by that. I have the strength to loose this weight...I look forward to fitting back into my size 10 jeans by fall.

Wish me luck!
